Digital Learning Committee

Charge:

The Digital Learning Committee is responsible for providing strategic guidance to the Executive Leadership of Digital Learning, comprising the Vice Provost of Digital Learning and the Assistant Provost of Academic Innovation and Quality Assurance. The Committee purview encompasses:

  • Policies and procedures related to digital education
  • Digital content delivery methods
  • Pedagogical and andragogical approaches in digital learning
  • Educational technology tools and platforms
  • Support systems for digital learning initiatives
  • Related work across all course delivery modalities

The Committee's recommendations shall apply to all course delivery methods as defined in LU Policy (MAPP 02.04.01), including asynchronous online, synchronous online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses. The committee's goal is to foster innovation, ensure quality, and promote best practices in digital learning across the institution.

Committee Members: Executives of Digital Learning (Digital Learning & Academic Innovation/Quality Assurance), Chief Information Officer, Dean of Library, Administrative Assistant for Digital Learning, Dean of Library, Leadership for the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (Executive Director & Assistant Director), President of the Faculty Senate or Designated Representative, President of the CID or Designated Representative, President of SGA or Designated Representative, Accessibility Resource Center representative, and elected faculty from each academic college. An executive of Digital Learning shall serve as Chair of the committee.

Membership & Reporting: Faculty Senators in concert with the College Deans conduct the election for faculty members; Chair is an Executive of Digital Learning; charge to Committee given by Provost; recommendations from Committee presented to Provost by Committee Chair.
