Review Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Employment of Relatives Policy (HR Policy 3.9)

This form is intended to:

  • Make you aware of Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s policy on nepotism in the workplace.
  • Create a record of each employee’s family members working at Â鶹ÊÓƵ to ensure compliance with the policy.

This policy applies to all employees, staff and faculty, including student assistants, work-study, special consultants, etc. There is no barrier to employing multiple members of the same family, but we do ensure that members of the same family are not supervising or approving transactions for employees within their own family.

Close family member is defined as:

A close relative, including parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, uncle, aunt, nephew, niece, first cousin, spouse, registered domestic partner, step-parent, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law,

  • And by guardianship and/or adoption
  • Or a person residing in the immediate household
  • Relatives of domestic partners shall be treated as relatives of spouses.
