Spindletop Gladys City Museum to host Jazz and Wine Night

Spindletop Gladys City Museum is set to host Jazz and Wine Night Thursday, Sept. 23 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Jazz and Wine Nights are simply that-music and drinks with old friends and new friends. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, although some seating will be provided by the museum. The cost is $10 a person for non-members and free for museum members. Money raised will be going to the building fund to redo the sidings of each of the buildings, update the electricity and to install central air units in the buildings.

Each participant will receive 3 tickets for drinks. Red and white wine and some beer varieties will be served along with water and soft drinks. Light refreshments will also be provided by Edible Arrangements. seth-wade-melacon.jpg

The guest musician is Seth Wade Melancon. Melancon is a music-savvy composer and producer with eight years in the film scoring field and more than 13 years experience composing, arranging and performing music. He has made a name for himself within the Southeast Texas talent scene and has played numerous venues and churches around the SeTX area. Apart from performance, he has composed and produced the scores for many films over the years, both short and feature-length. Melancon prides himself as a versatile multi-instrumentalist, showing proficiency in not only piano performance, but also cello, guitar, brass, winds and drums.

The War Wagon Cigar Lounge and TAB Typewriter Key Jewelry also will be present. The War Wagon Cigar Lounge took a 1960 Airstream camper and turned it into a relaxing place to enjoy a nice cigar. TAB Typewriter Key Jewelry sells great accessories made from typewriter keys and other found items.

“Not only can you enjoy some great music and wine, you can also enjoy a nice cigar or buy your loved one a nice necklace,” said Troy Gray, museum director.
