The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Cardinal Jazz Orchestra will present its first concert of the academic semester on Thursday, Oct. 14, in the Rothwell Recital Hall located on the campus of Â鶹ÊÓƵ. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.
“We’re extremely excited to be able to present our first public concert in 18 months,” said Rick Condit, professor of Saxophone and director of the Jazz Band. “We’ve been able to accomplish a lot online, but there is really nothing like a live audience experience for both the students and the public.”
The concert will feature a mixture of contemporary and classic big band compositions including tributes to the great bands of Duke Ellington and Count Basie.
In addition to a live audience, the concert will also be broadcast live at lamar.edu/virtualconcerts.
