Join Troy Gray, Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown museum director, and special guests Judy Linsley and Ellen Rienstra, authors of the book "Giant Under the Hill," for an online question and answer discussion about the discovery of oil at Spindletop, Gladys City, and more.
The museum plans to offer Coffee & Spindletop quarterly with guests from Southeast Texas and around the United States on Oct. 14. It also will feature discussions that are related to some aspect of the Spindletop story, about one of the buildings, or about the geology and science of oil. Viewers can tune in to the live broadcast of the event on the museum’s Facebook page at , the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Facebook page and at
www.lamar.edu/live.
Linsley and Rienstra will be taking questions from the online audience related to the book, Spindletop history, Gladys City, and the central characters.
“This is an additional resource that we are utilizing to allow audiences to connect to Spindletop,” Gray said. “It should be a great and engaging discussion.”
