On Thursday, Sept. 15, the College of Engineering hosted the annual fall LU Engineering Career Fair. Students were welcomed in the Live Oak Ballroom in the Setzer Center with more than 70 prospective employers awaiting their arrival, the largest career fair in the college’s history to date.
“The Southeast Texas economy is roaring back and this is clearly demonstrated by industry’s challenges hiring top engineering talent,” Dean of the College of Engineering Dr. Brain Craig said. “With LU College of Engineering’s dedication to student success and preparing job-ready graduates, more and more companies are enthusiastic to hire our graduates.”
Students had the opportunity to explore employment for co-ops, internships and full-time positions.
Companies were eager to recruit on campus again, and to have the opportunity to meet with candidates in person.
“The LU Engineering Career Fair is a great way for students to connect with potential future employers,” said Brynn Baker, an electrical engineering major.
“Thanks to Â鶹ÊÓƵ, I was able to speak face-to-face with many company leaders that I otherwise would not have had the opportunity to. I have since been contacted for an interview and I am excited to see what the future holds.
More than 70 companies who attending career fair visited from all over Texas and out-of-state. This three-hour event brought in over 300 LU CoE students, with several walking away with an interview scheduled.
"The Fall 2022 Lamar College of Engineering Career Fair was a great opportunity for students to network.
