We sat down with Associate Director of the Welcome Center, Karli Padia, to ask her what students should know and expect to see on April 15th.
When: Saturday, April 15th
Time: 9am to 2pm
Where: Setzer Student Center
A: It’s a day where you go from being an admitted student to LU to an enrolled Â鶹ÊÓƵ Cardinal. Sessions will be held throughout the day giving Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s admitted students the opportunity to complete all the next steps before classes start. We’re really trying to get students on campus and make it a fun and exciting day for them while taking care of the next steps to get you ready for your first day of class.
A: We are highly encouraging students to register before April 7 to ensure a personalized experience. Going from admitted student to enrolled student, we will start the process of handing them from admissions counseling over to their financial aid counselor, they’re advising team, as well as staff that works in all campus resources that will be offered to them as a Â鶹ÊÓƵ student and alumni. The Welcome Center will also be offering tours such as a tour of the residence hall and will then be able to finish other next steps, such as housing and registering for New Student Orientation. Students who attend Admitted Student Day are eligible to receive a free NSO (New Student Orientation) waiver for free registration for the student and up to two guests! (That’s $100 in savings)
A: The event is designed for admitted first time in college students that plan to take their classes on campus, starting in Fall or Summer of 2023. Admitted students matching these criteria and up to 2 family members and/or guests are encouraged to attend.
A: This is such an exciting but nerve-racking time for our incoming freshmen! This event puts those worries and anxiety at ease by introducing you to the faculty, staff, and students you will do life with for the next 4 years and event after that, as you call Â鶹ÊÓƵ home. We can’t wait to get to know these Cardinals better and show off Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s beautiful campus to them, all while assuring them that we are here to help the entire way!
