Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Center for Career and Professional Development recently hosted "Taylor-ed Tuesday," an event designed to promote professional attire and career readiness.
The event featured President and First Lady Taylor, along with faculty and staff representatives.
“The support of President and Mrs. Taylor means a great deal to our students and underscores the university’s commitment to their professional growth,” Hayley Tyson, director of the Center for Career and Professional Development said. “Events like these are invaluable in helping students understand the importance of professional presentation, and they were nothing but supportive.”
Taylor-ed Tuesday was open to Â鶹ÊÓƵ faculty, staff, and students and emphasized the importance of professional presentation in career development. The event aimed to equip students with both the attire and the skills they needed for future career opportunities. The first 100 students who attended received a complimentary LU-branded tie, scarf, or bow tie, along with individual instruction on how to properly tie their new accessories, adding a practical element to the initiative.
The event's success was reflected in the positive feedback from attendees, including those who have experienced its benefits firsthand and are now eager to share their knowledge with others.
“Attending Taylor-ed Tuesday last year was a great refresher for me,” Micah Hampton, an electrical engineering student, said. “It’s been amazing to see how this event has impacted my own career readiness. Now, being able to give back by teaching others how to tie a tie feels incredibly rewarding.”
