The Leadership Studies degree works for those who want a degree plan that best fits their career choices in management. The Leadership Studies courses (LEAD and MGMT) are offered in an eight-week part of term during lunch hour or in the evenings (one night per week) as hybrid courses.
The professional development courses (AASC) are offered online in 8-week sessions and the (COMM) courses are offered either online or in a face-to-face delivery mode depending on the course. You may apply technical credit as well as choose from a list of career focused electives.
With a partnership with FranklinCovey, the Leadership Studies degree is made up of an essentials management (MGMT) course, five Leadership (LEAD) courses and four professional development courses including two Communication (COMM) courses and two Applied Arts and Sciences courses (AASC) that will enhance your career goals.
In the Leadership Studies program, you will build your brand by learning individual, team and organizational leadership concepts.

This program will also give you opportunities to lead, network, and gain valuable experiences through community service.
After completing MGMT 3311 Leadership Essentials, you will formally be accepted into the Leadership studies major.
If your GPA is 2.5 or above, you will be invited to participate in the early start five-year BS Leadership Studies/MBA Program.
If you're invited, you may be eligible to receive scholarship funds, if your GPA is 3.25 or higher and you elect the on-campus Lamar MBA.
After completing the two required prerequisite courses, (ACCT 5315 and FINC 5300) and potentially one additional MBA course, you would need to complete nine (27 credit hours) of additional graduate courses.
The remaining nine courses could be taken in one year (3 courses each fall/spring semester and three courses in the summer).
Earning a degree in Leadership Studies will prepare you to work in a wide variety of job fields because of the several different concentrations, ranging from sales, management, healthcare or business.
