Dr. Kim was conferred his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with an emphasis on Transportation Infrastructures and Materials. After he finished his Ph.D., Dr. Kim joined an enthusiastic group of transportation research geeks at the Louisiana Transportation Research Center and conducted many research projects concerning the sustainability of transportation infrastructures in the United States. While working primarily as a research associate, he also taught various engineering mechanics courses at Louisiana State University, including Statics, Mechanics of Materials, Introduction to Asphalt Mixture Design, and so on.

During the course, Dr. Kim found a great interest in teaching, and he decided to move to Kansas State University for a full-time Teaching Professor position where he taught Statics, Statics and Dynamics, Highway Engineering Planning and Management, Civil Engineering Materials, and Economics of Design and Construction. After a year of service at K-State, Dr. Kim joined the Reese Construction Management Program at Â鶹ÊÓƵ in Fall 2019 semester and has been actively working with the faculties and students to advance the Excellence of Education in the Cardinal Community.
