Courses Taught: CHEN 3340: Process Analysis. Credit 3. Application of Mathematics, physics, and chemistry to the solution of problems in industrial chemistry. Material and energy balance calculations on processes undergoing physical and chemical change. Prerequisite: ENGR 2374 or concurrent.

Goals: To teach the student to apply physical and chemical relations to formulate and solve material and energy balances problems dealing with chemical processes.

Learning Outcomes: The student will be able to:

  1. apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering;
  2. identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems;
  3. recognize the need for, and have an ability to engage in life-long learning;
  4. use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice; and
  5. have working knowledge, including safety and environmental aspects, of material and energy balances applied to chemical processes.
