Pediatric Speech and Language Therapy

Pediatric speech and language therapy provides assessment and treatment of your child’s communication skills. These include speech, language, play, and social interaction and development. The focus of treatment may be on:

  • Language development
  • Speech sound correction (articulation)
  • Stuttering
  • Voice
  • Development of pragmatic (social) skills
  • Augmentative communication
  • Development of play behaviors essential for developing appropriate speech and language

What Should I Expect at the Evaluation?

To schedule an evaluation for your child you will need to fill out the child case history form and intake forms and either fax, mail, email, or drop-off the forms.

Once we receive your paperwork, you will receive a call to schedule the evaluation.

Please note: We schedule evaluations in September, October, November, February, March, April, May, and some dates in June and July.

Evaluation Appointment

The evaluation will generally take about one hour. The therapist will evaluate your child’s needs and abilities.

Bring all medical information and equipment including:

  • Your child’s social security number
  • Insurance cards
  • Identification cards
  • Immunization records
  • Medical history
  • Hospitalizations
  • Allergies
  • Current medications
  • Adverse drug reactions
  • Any information you have regarding your child’s developmental history

You will be asked to share:

  • Your concerns and goals
  • Your child’s birth, medical, and developmental history
  • Family history
  • Any questions you may have
