Michael Oszczakiewicz

Michael Oszczakiewicz, M.D. was born in Beaumont, Texas in 1957. He proudly graduated from French High School in 1975 and was an all-district football performer as well as captain of the district championship football team. He went on to Â鶹ÊÓƵ where he was a 1979 honor graduate of the Biology Department. From there he went to the University of Texas Medical School in Houston where he earned his doctorate. In 1983 Dr. Oz moved to Manhattan where he spent the next several years at New York University performing his internship and residency in general surgery and was actually the Executive Chief Resident at New York Medical Center in 1986. He then went on to do a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery under Dr. Frank Spencer. At the conclusion of this, he then went to El Paso where he became involved with a private practice as well as Texas Tech University.  He chaired the cardiovascular department at Texas Tech in El Paso and was intimately involved with Thomason Hospital for several years.

He returned to his hometown in 1996 where he joined Associated Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons and has been a managing partner for several years. Dr. Oz has also had the privilege of being the Chairman of the Cardiovascular Critical Care Committee at Baptist Hospital here in Beaumont. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, The American Board of Thoracic Surgeons, The Society of Thoracic Surgeons, The Texas Surgical Society, The Texas Medical Association, The Jefferson County Medical Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and The American Medical Association. Dr. Oz was also the 2015 recipient of the American Heart Association Award. Dr. Oszczakiewicz is a devout Catholic and a member of St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica. He is married to the love of his life, Rhonda Oszczakiewicz, ACNP, and happily resides in Beaumont.
